Harrington Sponsors In Control - Advanced Driver Training

In Control Car

On April 26, 2009, Harrington Insurance Agency, Inc. teamed up with In Control, and Arbella Insurance to offer to Middleboro High School students an Advanced Driver Training class. The class, through support from Harrington and Arbella, was offered to the students at a discounted price of $99, down from the original price of $299.

The event was organized in response to a tragic car crash that killed two of Middleboro's own. Middleboro High School seniors John DeYoung, 18, and Brian McMahon, 17, were killed in a December 2008 crash that was blamed, in part, on driver error. In an effort to prevent situations like this happening to future students, Harrington teamed up with several organizations to provide potentially life-saving crash prevention training in memory of the victims.

In Control ClassroomThrough In Control's program, students encounter real-life situations, which are then supplemented with class time. During short periods of class training, In Control experts outline the scenarious by explaining the specific and dangerous details presented in each scenario. The "hands-on" driving situations emplore a host of quick-response driving techniques, which may be needed any time on the road. These "hands-on" activities force students to drive at every day speeds, and then react with immediate braking and calculated maneuvers.

The event was a great success for all of those involved. Harrington has established a relationship with In Control and intends to only build upon it, hoping to create more opportunities for future drivers.

Advanced Driver Training classes like In Control also qualify drivers, especially young drivers, for additonal discounts on your auto insurance. Harrington Insurance always has their customers in mind, and it's because of this that we intend to continue to deliver safety programs that will not only benefit a customer's driving ability, but also their wallet.
